Maisie has been studying Business Administration for the past two years currently working on completing her BTEC Level 3 Business Administration Qualification. She’s previously worked in a similar role for another consultancy. Maisie is based in our Sheffield office, where she provides office support to all the ISSL staff.
Stuart is one of the newest members of the ISSL team, joining in January 2018. He has over 12 years’ experience working within the NHS, a decade of which involved working in healthcare waste management. During his time in the NHS, Stuart gained experience carrying out waste process audits, using information to identify areas for sustainability and environmental improvement. In addition to this he gained further operational experience developing, implementing and maintaining new procedures and policies and good practice related to healthcare waste disposal.
After completing an engineering apprenticeship with Leyland Trucks and several years in diesel engineering both in the UK and overseas, Alan joined the Road Transport Industry Training Board. He has over 25 years experience in Health and Safety and specialises in Transportation issues. Alan was also a Director of Hinton and Higgs.

Anne is the Chief Operating Officer of Independent Safety Services Limited and is well-known in the field of healthcare waste management, nationally and internationally. She has a wealth of research and practical experience of healthcare waste management and waste treatment processes at all levels. She is a practicing dangerous goods safety advisor and waste consultant as well as advising on waste strategy and policy. When not on client sites Anne is actively involved with a number of national and international strategic committees.
She is a Chartered Waste Manager, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and recognised by ISWA as an International Waste Manager.

Will is a regulatory compliance professional with an extensive range of skills and experiences from working with the waste management and industry sectors.
Will specialises in compliance assessment and systems improvements, with expertise in auditing, project planning, report preparation, vehicle compliance checking, contractor compliance reviews, policy and procedure development, resource efficiency and reuse strategies and training systems.
Will is an exam-qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA), Chartered Waste Manager (MCIWM) and Tech IOSH. Will is the company representative based in the North of England.

Gary has extensive transport industry experience in the management of dangerous goods movements in packages and in tanks. His experience extends to managing a fleet of 50 vehicles on both National and International journeys and he holds CPC qualifications for both activities, as well as a number of vocational training certificates in Quality and Business Management. His insight into dangerous goods issues is extensive having been involved at all levels; as a driver, Transport Manager, Commercial Director and DGSA.
A qualified DGSA for 18 years, Gary’s range of experience is broad and he has worked in the commercial transport sector, the aromatic oils industry, aerosol packaging operations and the healthcare sector which involves advising on matters as diverse as microbiology and radioactive materials and wastes as well as training staff groups such as porters, community workers and drivers.
Paul is a chartered Accountant with over 40 years experience, both in private practice and in the Safety Consultancy business, including 10 years with Hinton & Higgs Ltd before and after its sale to Willis Caroon. Paul has been a Director of Independent Safety Services Limited since its inception in 1996.

Matthew has experience in a variety of waste management fields including, but not limited to, thermal treatment of waste, waste regulation and prevention and hazardous and healthcare wastes. He previously worked as technical advisor at CIWM, supporting and providing technical advice to five special interest groups (SIGs) and contributing to the publication of two guidance documents on healthcare waste. He continues to be an active member of the Healthcare Waste SIG Steering Committee. He is also an exam qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser and has worked with some of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK and specialist Universities across England.

Bob is a past Chairman and Vice President of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and is registered with the Law Society as an Expert Witness. Engaged by a wide range of organisations, both in the public and private sectors, he has undertaken projects involving many vehicle types, including car transporters and abnormal indivisible loads. Bob has investigated and reported upon numerous vehicle accidents throughout the world.
Christine has worked for various companies in a similar role. Her previous position involved supporting the Management Team at Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK based in Sheffield. Prior to that, she also worked for the EEF in Sheffield for over 19 years. In that time, Christine worked for three consecutive Chief Executives, helping to support new business ventures in a varied PA role.
