Dr Anne C Woolridge BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, MCIWM, FHEA Technical Director Anne is an experienced waste auditor and trainer, she is well-known in the field of healthcare waste management, nationally and internationally. She works closely with a number of organisations in order to improve the management of healthcare waste from both the NHS and private sector. Anne is an examination qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor. She also sits on the CIWM Special Interest Group for healthcare waste and the Healthcare Waste and Resources Research Group in the UK and is the Chair of the A&WMA (USA) Technical Committee for Medical Waste Management and Treatment. |

Mark Butterworth Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser & Waste Consultant Mark is a well known and respected consultant in the Dangerous Goods Industry and has been working at the highest level in this Industry for over ten years. He has extensive experience of a wide range of issues and has consulted on dangerous substances matters in this country and abroad. As well as dealing with commercial clients both large and small, Mark has also consulted for public bodies such as local authorities and the NHS. His specialisations include Class 1 – Explosives, Class 6 – Infectious Materials and Class 7 – Radioactive Materials. He is also particularly well versed in the air transport of dangerous goods. As well as consulting widely on all matters to do with dangerous substances, Mark also trains on the transport of chemicals by Road, Air, Rail and Sea and is the Training Director of Specialist Training & Consultancy Services. |

Will Jones BSc (hons) Environmental Science. Waste Management Consultant & Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor. Will has extensive experience working within the chemical and radioactive industries. Specialising in compliance issues and standards, Will is experienced in planning investigations, site appraisals data gathering, auditing healthcare waste facilities (full audits, chemical audits, pre acceptance and duty of care) and liaising with regulatory bodies as required. Will is an exam-qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) and services clients mainly in the north of England. |

Gary Spooner. Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser / Waste Consultant. Gary is a qualified Transport Manager for domestic and international transport and has over 30 years experience in the transport industry dealing with the movement of dangerous goods predominately chemicals, radioactives, gases, fuels and infectious materials. Gary has experience undertaking healthcare waste auditing including full audits, pre acceptance audits and duty of care checks. Gary is the appointed Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser for a number of clients throughout the UK. |

Bob Papps I.Eng., FIMI, MIRTE, MSOE Senior Transport Engineer Bob is a Council Member and past Chairman and Vice President of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and is registered with the Law Society as an Expert Witness. Engaged by a wide range of organisations in both the public and private sectors, he has undertaken projects involving many vehicle types including car transporters and abnormal indivisible loads. Bob has investigated and reported upon numerous vehicle accidents throughout the world. |

John Herbert BSc (Eng), PhD, PG Dip H&S, CFIOSH, CEnv, MIoD Director John Herbert is a Health, Safety and Environmental specialist. Formerly Director of Health, Safety and Environment for the Engineering Employers Federation in Sheffiled, John has extensive experience in helping a wide range of organisations, both in the UK and internationally, to improve their Health, Safety and Environment performance; advising directors and managers on both strategic and operational issues. He has worked as an Inspector for the Health and Safety Executive and has a research degree in Occupational Hygiene. |

Alan Johns MSOE, MIRTE Managing Director After completing an engineering apprenticeship with Leyland Trucks and several years in diesel engineering both in the U.K. and overseas, Alan joined the Road Transport Industry Training Board, he has over 25 years experience in Health and Safety and specialises in Transportation issues. Alan was also a Director of Hinton and Higgs. |

Paul Teasdale FCA Finance Director Paul is a chartered Accountant with over 40 years experience both in private practice and in the Safety Consultancy business including 10 years with Hinton & Higgs Ltd before and after its sale to Willis Caroon. Paul has been a Director of Independent Safety Services Limited since its inception in 1996. |
